About
Welcome to Warung Laota, a vibrant culinary gem nestled in the heart of Jimbaran, Bali. Located at Pertokoan Niaga Nusa Dua on Jl. Bypass Ngurah Rai, this restaurant offers a delightful fusion of traditional Chinese flavors and a cozy dining experience that feels like a warm embrace. With its nostalgic vibe and classic-style menu, Warung Laota transports you back in time while treating you to some of the best dishes this tropical paradise has to offer.
Among the standout offerings, the Hong Kong-style porridge—or jook— shimmers as a must-try dish. Patrons rave about its smooth, savory texture, making it the ultimate comfort food for any meal of the day. A customer aptly described it as "more than just a meal; it’s a soothing experience." This beautifully prepared dish exemplifies why Warung Laota has garnered a loyal following.
However, the culinary journey does not stop there. From the renowned Pecking duck to various stir-fried delights, the menu caters to a diverse palate. The Sapo Seafood and Ayam Lada Hitam are favorites among diners, praised for their rich flavors that leave patrons longing for more. While some customers noted the limited vegetarian options and occasional waiting times, the overall sentiments lean towards a favorable dining experience. As customer Ivana D K mentioned, the restaurant is packed with families, a testament to its ability to deliver child-friendly dishes that resonate with all ages.
The ambiance of Warung Laota is as inviting as its food, enhanced by traditional Chinese architectural elements that add to the charm of your dining experience. Yet, there are areas for growth, such as service speed and ensuring every item is freshly prepared. Observations regarding the restroom conditions hint at the need for a bit of attention to detail, but these minor issues are overshadowed by the collective joy evoked by the meals.
To sum it up, Warung Laota stands out not only for the taste of its food but also for the warm, familial atmosphere that welcomes all. It’s a place where every bite reflects the love for culinary tradition, making it a must-visit spot for both locals and travelers alike. If you find yourself in Bali, make sure to indulge in the comfort and richness of the dishes at Warung Laota—you will not be disappointed.
“ If you’re seeking comfort in a bowl, few dishes can compare to the smooth, savory satisfaction of Hong Kong-style porridge, or jook. This traditional Cantonese dish is more than just a meal; it’s a soothing experience, perfect for any time of day, simply in need of something warm and fulfilling. ”
“ Very tasty food. Limited vegetarian options. All items didn’t comes with cup of steamed rise, so have to order for steamed rice separately. Soft drink was served too late without any reason and have to remind few times. Additional car park available on next door. ”
“ Food is just fine especially the duck is very nice. The crispy prawn is just okay but it is needed to improve. The lectes is always good. The service should be improved as the waiting time should be quicker. The waiters are all good. The toilet was smelly. Overall was havig a good time here. ”
“ Almost perfect food, but feel a bit salty for some of the food for me and Family Good service and nice place to eat. ”
“ One of the best Chinese restaurants in Bali. It has a nostalgic, old-school vibe—both from the classic-style menu and the traditional Chinese architectural elements. I found out they have several branches too. We ordered the Sapo Seafood and Ayam Lada Hitam—both were savory and heartwarming. The Bubur Polos was simple but comforting. We also tried their Ronde, which was sweet and served hot, with a pleasant gingery kick. At first glance, the place seemed quiet and dim from the outside at night, but inside it was lively with people—from casual dinners to big family gatherings. Loved the warm atmosphere and the food ”
